2007 Swartz Genealogy Adventure
Yellow Springs, OH, and Madison, IN
This year's adventure began with Barbara's arrival in Columbus after spending a few days at the new Wooster Library and the Ohio Genealogical Society in Mansfield.
Wicked and the Governor
Friend Ramona joined us for dinner, after which the three women and Jim enjoyed a production of Wicked at the Ohio Theatre. After the incredible show, as we were leaving the Statehouse garage, Governor Ted Strickland walked out to his own car. We rolled down the windows to say hello, and he reached in and shook hands with Barbara, and greeted all of us. The adventure had begun!

Yellow Springs and Cousin Becky
Friday morning Barbara and I headed to Yellow Springs, Ohio where we were to meet up with Swartz cousin Becky. We detoured through Springfield to take a look at the Westcott house (Frank Lloyd Wright), and to drive around Antioch College in YS. After coffee and pie at the Sunrise Cafe, we entered Ye Olde Trail Tavern across the street.
Our third cousin Becky, a descendant from Ellen Swartz, arrived soon afterwards. We spent the next hour and a half showing photos, sharing stories, and updating data for the genealogy records. The visit ended too soon, but Barbara and I had to move along in order to arrive in Madison, Indiana before dinnertime.Madison
